The principle is straightforward: keep the shelves fixed, move the machine. Material is placed into vertical tower racks, each shelf holding its own bundle of pipe, tube or rebar. A gantry unit travels along floor-mounted rails in front of the rack line, lifts the target shelf clear of the tower, and carries it to the operator or the next processing station. Because every shelf moves independently, one bundle never blocks another, and the system can store or retrieve any position in the tower on demand.

Precision Positioning and PLC Touchscreen Control
A heavy-duty gantry ASRS is only as useful as its positioning repeatability. Control runs through a PLC with a touchscreen HMI. Operators call up a bundle by reference, the system selects the shelf, and stock levels update automatically. Because positioning is machine-controlled, routine storage no longer depends on a crane operator’s judgment. That consistency also protects the rack structure: shelves are set down squarely on their supports every time, cycle after cycle, which keeps the tower aligned over years of service.

Space Efficiency and Flexible Expansion
Floor-mounted rails with a shared picking aisle let the system pack more material into less floor area than any equivalent layout of cantilever or bundle racks.
