Vacuum Plus Gripper: A Dual-End Effector Strategy

Herochu’s manipulator does not rely on a single handling method. It pairs a computer-controlled vacuum suction matrix with a mechanical gripper system. The vacuum array lifts raw sheets from the tower with gentle, distributed force—no scratches, no edge deformation. For nested sheets with large cutouts, inactive zones remain sealed rather than bleeding vacuum pressure. Sheet separation uses a micro-flexing action combined with compressed air injection, verified by thickness sensors before the gantry moves. Double-sheet pickup—a common cause of scrapped parts and damaged laser heads—is caught before it reaches the bed.

Technical Specifications That Matter on the Floor

The Herochu HC-RT series covers sheet dimensions from 2500×1300 mm to 6000×1500 mm, with load capacities of 300 kg to 500 kg. Gantry traverse speed runs 10–30 m/min, lifting speed 5–10 m/min, and fork adjustment 5–20 m/min. Air supply requires 0.6–0.7 MPa. The pneumatic rotating structure allows the manipulator to turn sheets 90 degrees, accommodating both transverse and longitudinal feeding orientations without manual reorientation.
