- What the DRAWER actually is
Forget “rack”. Think electric assistant. Each unit is a heavy-gauge steel tower with 6–10 roll-out drawers that glide on sealed bearings and hardened rails. One operator (or a robot arm) can pull 3 000 kg of sheet out to 100 % extension without a winch, without back-strain, without losing time. When the drawer is out, the rack doors lock automatically; when the drawer is pushed home, it locks again. No creeping, no pinch-points, no guessing. - Why it lives next to your laser, punch or shear
The DRAWER is dimensioned to speak the same language as your machine. Standard footprints match 3 × 1.5 m, 6 × 1.5 m and 6 × 2 m tables; height starts at 2.5 m and can go up to 15 m with an optional mezzanine roof that turns dead air into storage for fixtures, remnants or first-off samples. Place the rack on either side of the cutting table, open the doors, roll out a drawer and feed the sheet directly by vacuum cups, magnetic grippers or eccentric clamps—no extra cart, no second person, no scratched surfaces. Users report 28 % more net beam-on time in the first month. - One drawer, three loading styles
a) Flat pallet drawer – drop a full pack of sheets from the forklift in under ten seconds; separators stay in place.
b) Universal cross-bar drawer – crane hooks or forks; store bare sheets, sheets with spacers, or palletized stock.
c) Deep-well drawer – sheet sits inside the drawer, not on top, cutting vertical height demand by 220 mm per level. Add the optional electric drive and the drawer opens at the push of a pendant, leaving the operator free to guide the load. - Built for 3-shift honesty
Frame: 5 mm rolled steel side plates, bolted with grade 8.8 hardware, fully welded base. Total weight is up to 30 % higher than catalog equivalents—so you can bump it with a 5-ton forklift and it won’t skate. Drawers run on tandem rollers rated 1 250 kg each; rails are induction-hardened to 55 HRC and replaceable in ten minutes. Powder-coat finish is orange (safety RAL 2004) as standard; blue, grey or your corporate colour on request. Every weld is MPI checked; every rack is load-tested at 1.25 × rated capacity before it leaves the Herochu plant. - Safety that is not an after-thought

- Mechanical interlock: doors stay locked until drawer is fully home; drawer stays locked when doors are open.
- Positive stop: drawer locks in both extremes, so vibration from overhead cranes can’t coast it.
- Finger-clearance profile: door frames overlap the drawer edge, eliminating the classic shear gap.
- Optional light-grids and e-stop pendant for electric versions; full CE/UE documentation supplied.
- Custom, not “custom-ish”
Start with four pre-engineered sizes (HC-B2015-62, HB-B3015-65, HB-B6015-63, HC-B6020-65) and then tell us what your shop actually needs:
- Extra drawers? Add two more levels in 48 h engineering time.
- Stainless or zinc-plated for white-room HVAC work? Done.
- Through-loading doors on the back so you can restock from the aisle while the laser keeps running? Standard option.
- RFID pocket on each drawer to talk to your MRP? We integrate.
- Colour-match to your corporate palette, optional logo plate, even adjustable feet for sloping floors—no up-charge mystery, everything spelled out in the quote.

- Real estate you already own
A 6-drawer HB-B6020-65 stores 48 t of 6 × 2 m sheet in a footprint of only 2.1 m × 6.4 m—less than two pallets wide. Add the steel mezzanine roof and you gain a second level for 10 t of remnant bins or 3 m of fixture shelves without pouring a single square meter of new concrete. - Plug-and-play automation ready
Each electric drawer leaves the factory with 24 VDC I/O, ProfiNet and EtherNet/IP ports on the junction box. Connect to your existing tower crane, cobot or vacuum lifter; the rack sends “drawer closed & locked” signals to the cell safety PLC so you can run true lights-out shifts. Not ready for full automation? Use the wired pendant today, retrofit the robot tomorrow—no structural changes. - Numbers that pay for themselves
Case: 6 kW fiber laser, two-shift operation, 300 working days.
Old method: operator walks 35 m to loose pallet, peels one sheet, returns, 4 min 10 s average.
DRAWER method: sheet presented at table edge, 55 s total.
Saved cycle: 3 min 15 s per sheet. At 80 sheets/day that is 260 labour hours/year. At US $35/hour loaded cost the rack pays for itself in 6.3 months—before you count fewer dents, fewer double-cuts and improved morale. - Ordering & logistics
- Lead time: 4–6 weeks for standard colours, 7 weeks for custom RAL.
- Shipping: knock-down or fully assembled; 40 ft HC container fits three HB-B6020-65 units.
- Installation: two technicians, one day, no crane needed; bolt-together frame, levelers included.
- Warranty: 5 years on structure, 2 years on rollers and electric drive. Global field-service network in 28 countries; spares shipped within 72 h.
