The Herochu roll-out drawer rack turns a dark, static corner of your warehouse into a live, single-operator supermarket for steel, aluminium, composite or plastic sheet. Each drawer glides out on sealed steel bearings so smoothly that a 70 kg operator can retract two tonnes of 6 mm plate with one hand on the crank and the other on the stop gauge.
What makes the drawer move
Cold-drawn, induction-hardened shafts run in replaceable polymer bearings. The moment the handle turns, a 1 : 7 planetary gearbox multiplies input torque; overload clutch slips at 105 % rated load to protect both operator and rack. Push the chromed lever and the drawer locks in 50 mm increments—no creep, no drift, even when a 4 m × 2 m sheet acts like a sail in a cross-wind. A rear-mounted anti-tilt foot drops automatically when the drawer exceeds 70 % extension, keeping the centre of gravity inside the footprint without floor anchoring.
Steel that carries steel
Frames are laser-cut from Q235B hot-rolled coil, then robot-welded in 1.5 m jigs to keep diagonal tolerance within 0.5 mm. Uprights are 120 × 60 × 4 mm closed box; drawer chassis uses 100 × 50 × 4 mm C-channel with six longitudinal ribs. After shot-blasting to Sa 2.5, steel receives a zinc-rich primer and 60 µm RAL 7035 epoxy top coat—optional hot-dip galvanising for outdoor stores. Every weld is MPI inspected; certificates are kept in serial-numbered files you can download from our portal for ten years.
Load where it matters
Standard shelf pitch is 100 mm, adjustable in 25 mm steps. Shelf fronts are 40 mm high formed lips; rear stoppers pivot flat so a vacuum lifter can over-pick sheets without catching edges. Each drawer rides on four twin-wheel rollers rated 8 kN apiece—dynamic, not static. The result: 1 500 kg per drawer with a 1.4 safety factor, or 2 000 kg with heavy-duty axles and thicker deck plates. Uniform load, point load, shock load—tested to EN 15635 and FEM 10.2.06.

Widths: 1 000 mm to 2 500 mm. Depths: 800 mm to 2 000 mm. Heights: 1 200 mm low-line for under-gantry access, 3 600 mm high-line to clear factory doors. Number of drawers: 2 to 20. We nest the design inside your CAD drawing, flagging columns, sprinklers and forklift aisles before we quote. Colour code drawers to alloy grade, add RFID pockets, or integrate a floor scale so you know how many kilos are left without climbing.
Hand-crank or motor-drive—same footprint
Manual version ships with a collapsible crank to prevent snagging. Motorised version uses a 0.75 kW brake motor, 24 V DC control, IP54. Push-button stations on both A and B faces; optional remote fob. Battery-backup hand crank is stored behind the motor cover—if you lose air or power you still extract the drawer. Current draw is 3 A at full load; plug into 230 V single-phase socket. Soft-start inverter eliminates sheet bounce during acceleration.
