Why Cantilever?
Traditional selective pallet rack forces you to wrestle 6 m pipes or 3 m sheet packs into constrained beams. Cantilever removes the front column entirely, turning every tier into an open shelf you can load from the side in seconds. The result is visual SKU identification at eye level, forklift access without diagonal gymnastics, and up to 400 % more density versus ground storage. Add a mobile base and you compress five aisles into one, yet still pick any single bundle in under 30 seconds.
Built Around Your Longest Load
Herochu begins each project with a 14-point measurement checklist: maximum length, minimum length, bundle diameter, weight per piece, crane hook height, forklift mast clearance, seismic zone, wind exposure if outdoors, and future SKU growth. That data feeds our SolidWorks model which outputs a rack that is literally impossible to order off-catalogue. Whether you store 150 × 150 mm steel angles, 8-inch schedule-40 pipe, 2.5 t aluminium plates or plastic extrusions that sag if over-spanned, the arm pitch, column centre and base depth are calculated to eliminate deflection beyond L/180.
Steel That Outlives the Building
We use only Q235B hot-rolled coil, 0.2 % carbon min., yield 235 N/mm², fully traceable to the mill heat number. Columns are roll-formed into 450 mm “I” profiles with 6 mm web thickness, then robotically welded on both sides for full-penetration joints. Arms are bolted, not welded, so you can relocate them in 100 mm increments without voiding the warranty. Optional galvanisation to EN ISO 1461 gives 85 µm zinc coating—enough for 25-year corrosion resistance in coastal humidity. Prefer colour? Our polyester TGIC powder is baked 20 min at 200 °C, achieving 80 H pencil hardness and UV stability for outdoor yards.

Need to feed a CNC beam line or plasma table without double handling? Spec the Herochu Roll-Out module. Heavy-duty linear bearings on induction-hardened rails let each arm extend 100 %, turning your rack into a drawer that holds 5 t. A 24 V DC geared motor (110–240 V AC converter supplied) moves 300 mm per second with soft-start inverter, so one operator can position a 4 t bundle to within ±2 mm. Clear aisle width drops to 2.8 m—save 35 % floor space overnight. Manual crank backup is standard; lithium-ion wireless remote is optional.
Outdoor Yard? We Roof It.
Store 12 m PVC pipe or composite decking outside without sun chalk or rain staining. Herochu supplies 0.7 mm corrugated steel canopy with 2 % pitch, integrated gutter and downspout, and lightning conductor tabs. Columns are hot-dip galvanised; roof brackets are stainless 304. Wind load calculated to EN 1991-1-4 for 120 km/h gusts. Optional translucent GRP sheets give 60 % daylight if you need to read labels without artificial light.
Safety Beyond the Standard
Fork impact is the #1 killer of cantilever racks. Herochu ships every column with a 6 mm wrap-around guard that absorbs 4 000 J at –20 °C. Arms are powder-coated safety yellow as default; RFID tags embedded at the tip let your WMS confirm put-away in real time. For high-traffic aisles we integrate LED strip lighting that turns red when an arm is extended—no more nasty surprises around the corner. Load plaques are laser-etched stainless, not stickers that peel.

All hardware is grade 8.8 zinc-nickel plated; torque values are etched on the bolt head so you never guess. Our footplates are slotted 60 mm both directions to hit existing rebar mesh, eliminating core drilling in 80 % of retrofits.
