Herochu Horizontal Storage Racking for Sheet Materials
Turn dead floor space into profit—starting at $5,199, fully CE, EU and ISO 9001 certified.
Every metal-working shop hits the same wall: sheets stacked against the wall, leaned in corners, or wedged between machines. Steel, aluminium, stainless, copper, composite plates and even plastic tooling sheets become a daily obstacle course. Herochu’s roll-out horizontal racking erases that wall. One operator, one hoist or vacuum lifter, one smooth pull, and the desired sheet glides out at waist height—no fork-lift ballet, no hunting, no dented edges, no scratched surfaces. From 3 m × 1.5 m light-gauge parts to 6 m × 2 m, 6-ton hot-rolled plate, the system converts vertical air into organised, dense, instantly accessible storage.

Why horizontal?
Vertical sheet racks still demand a 4–5 m aisle so a fork-truck can tilt and lift. Herochu drawers extend laterally, letting you park presses, laser beds or shear tables directly opposite. The aisle collapses to the depth of one open drawer—under 800 mm—so you reclaim up to 70 % of the shop footprint for value-adding machinery. Meanwhile every tier locks positively in or out, eliminating the domino effect that injures fingers and ruins material.
Built for the weight of real work
Each welded drawer frame is punched from 8 mm structural steel, stress-relieved and fitted with sealed linear bearings rated for 30 000 cycles at full load. The HC-B6020-66 flagship carries 6 t per level—enough for a 20 mm mild-steel plate stack—yet the pull force remains below 25 kg thanks to precision cam rollers and a 25:1 gear-assist handle. Safety pawls auto-engage every 50 mm of travel, so even if a hoist chain snaps, the load stays suspended. A rubber-laminated bulkhead at the rear stops sheets from sliding too far, while replaceable PE wear strips protect delicate polished or coated faces.

Customise, don’t compromise
Start with four standard footprints, then scale. Need 4.5 m × 1.8 m drawers for automotive press-shop blanks? We punch new side frames. Need 250 kg/m² capacity for titanium aircraft skins? We upgrade to 12 mm rails and 18 mm deck plate. Want the top tier at 2 800 mm to clear an overhead crane hook? We extend the uprights and add a gas-spring assisted flip gate. Colour-match your corporate paint, add RFID slots for smart inventory, integrate a rear chute for off-cut return—nothing is off the shelf because everything is built to order in our 16 000 m² Jinan facility.

Plug-and-play with existing workflows
Laser blank lines: Position the rack so the open drawer aligns with the shuttle table; one person slides the sheet directly onto the feeder fingers without double handling.
Press brakes: Store the die library in the bottom 355 mm clearance level; upper drawers hold pre-cut blanks sorted by job number.
Shears: Mount a mobile scissor lift beneath the drawer mouth; the operator transfers 6 m stainless sheets onto the squaring arm in under 30 seconds.
Overnight change-overs: Lock every drawer, tag the master bar, and your night shift knows exactly where tomorrow’s material lives—no phone calls, no climbing.
Safety that pays for itself
A single 2 m × 1 m × 10 mm steel plate weighs 157 kg. Drop it from 300 mm and you have 470 J of impact energy—enough to sever toes, fracture ankles and trigger six-figure insurance claims. Herochu’s lock-in/lock-out system removes that risk. Drawers cannot drift inward while loading, and cannot be pushed back until the operator deliberately releases the spring-loaded detent. The result: zero reportable sheet-handling incidents among our 1 200-plus installed bases across Europe, North America and the Middle East since 2018.
Density by numbers
Take a typical 6 m × 6 m bay. Floor-stacking 4 m × 2 m plates three high consumes 24 m² and gives you 12 sheets. One HC-B4020-65 occupies 4.5 m × 2.5 m—11.25 m²—and delivers 30 sheets in six closable drawers. That is a 5× gain in material density, plus a 53 % reduction in floor usage. Multiply by your monthly rent per square metre and the rack self-finances in months, not years.
Certified, traceable, insured
We certify every weld to EN ISO 3834-2, shot-blast to Sa 2.5 and finish with two-part epoxy-polyester powder rated for 1 000 h salt-spray. The complete line is CE-marked under Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and carries EU-type examination certificates for load-bearing mechanical structures. ISO 9001:2015 governs our entire process chain—from 25 mm laser-cut blanks to final pre-delivery photographs emailed to you for sign-off. A €5 million global product liability policy underwritten by PICC guarantees structural integrity for ten years under normal workshop conditions.

Installation without downtime
Flat-pack export crating fits a 40 ft HQ container; six racks ship in one load. Upon arrival, two technicians and one forklift can assemble a five-tier unit in four hours using only pre-torqued bolts—no on-site welding or concrete work. Adjustable base plates compensate for 10 mm floor irregularities, and a built-in level bubble ensures perfect rail alignment. If you relocate, simply reverse the process; the modular design travels with you.

Smart options that future-proof your investment
- Motorised drive: 0.75 kW gear-motor with pendant or remote control reduces pull force to 5 kg—ideal for delicate copper or composite panels.
- Load cells: Each drawer becomes a live scale; net weights feed directly to your MRP via Modbus TCP.
- Bar-code/QR magazine: Laser-etched stainless tags bolt to the drawer face; scan with a tablet to update inventory in real time.
- LED strip: 24 V magnetic strips illuminate the drawer interior when extended, improving pick accuracy on evening shifts.
- Fire-rated enclosure: 90-minute calcium-silicate cladding and intumescent seals turn the rack into a compliant intermediate store next to Class A lasers.
